MA (Applied Psychology)
Seats: 30 seats , Duration: 2 Years (Full time) course, Eligibility: Graduate in any discipline from a recognized Indian/Foreign University with a minimum of 45% (40% for SC/ST/OBC) marks. Admission Procedure : Through PUCAT entrance test. Admission to the course shall be made on the basis of written test comprising of objective type questions.Written test shall be in English for evaluating General Psychology, English Language and Reasoning Ability. Annual Fee: Rs. 20,000 (TenThousand only per semester) and Rs.1500 Examination fee.
Master of Applied Psychology (MAP) is a Two-year (Full time) course being run at the Faculty Building of the University. In the era of multicultural society and globalization demanding consciousness for social and personal well being, the role of Psychology has come to the fore front. Professional psychologists have bright scope and future in organizations, hospitals, NGO’s and consultancies. etc. Keeping the present scenario into consideration, the course has the following aims;
- To popularize importance of applied psychology in organisations, hospitals, schools, NGOs, Media and other fields.
- To develop a new body of knowledge and skills, and make it available for those seeking challenging careers in the new era of liberalization and globalization
- Provide training to students in latest information and skills pertaining to applied psychology.
- To shape up smart and competent professionals by ongoing modules of personality development programs
Course Structure
The Syllabus of the MAP programme comprise of five papers in each semester. The course also offeres specialization in two areas, i.e. Organizational Behavior and Clinical Psychology. The papers are as follows:
Semester – I
- Paper I- Fundamentals of Psychology
- Paper II- Cognitive Processes
- Paper III- Field of Applied Psychology
- Paper IV- Research methods and Statistics
- Paper V- Practical
