The Department of Humanities and social sciences was established in 1997 at the Campus of VBS Purvanchal University Jaunpur. This Department plays a unique and distinctive role in Faculty of Engineering and Technology, where ethos of Science and Technology prevails. It is believed that Engineering and Science are, by their nature, humanistic and socially derived enterprises. Hence, a complete Science and Technology education must include English, Philosophy, Economics, Social and Behavioral Sciences where the students unite the applications of scientific principles along with human moral and social understanding. The department has different subject for B. Tech. students like: Soft Skills, Technical Communication, Universal Human Values, Constitution of India Law and Engineering, Indian Tradition, Culture and Society, Rural Development Administration and Planning, Project management and entrepreneurship
