In Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University, in accordance with the instructions of the government and under the patronage of Vice Chancellor, Prof. Nirmala S. Maurya, special awareness campaigns are being run from time to time online and offline for the safety, respect and self-reliance of women and girls. And with the continuous efforts of other female teachers, this program is being conducted | Till now a total of 9 webinars have been conducted | 4Mission Shakti Mega was launched on 7th August 2020. In the program of Mission Shakti, the cooperation of male and female officials from different fields was taken as speakers, which mainly included Professor Rita Bahuguna Joshi (Women Welfare and Family Welfare, Former Minister), Paresh Shah, Senior Technical Expert (Education Section), Mrs. Kiran Singh, Senior Advocate (Supreme Court New Delhi), Dr. Archana Shivhare (IPS, Gujarat) ,

Saloni Priya , Director (Umeed Counseling and Consulting Service) and other speakers made the students aware about women safety law, health, nutrition as well as government schemes. | 

Mission Shakti Abhiyan has been started by the Honorable Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath ji. In this, along with various departments of the state, state universities are also contributing. | Under the letter number 5495(4)-70-3-2020 of the government, a special awareness campaign is going on in Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University for the safety, respect and self-reliance of women and girls. Under the guidance of Honorable Vice Chancellor Prof. Nirmala S. Maurya ji and leadership of Mission Shakti Coordinator Dr. Jahnvi Srivastava, with the help of female teachers , Dr. Vanita Singh , Dr. Pooja Saxena , Dr. Jhansi Mishra , Dr. Priyanka , Jaya Shukla, it is being continuously run in both online and offline modes. Under this, along with making the women and girls of rural areas aware about safety, law and health, nutrition, cleanliness, the students of the university are also being informed about government schemes. They are being made aware about all those schemes which are being run by the state and central government for girls and women. The various programs run by the university under Mission Shakti have created awareness among women on a large scale. In Phase-4 and Phase-2 of Mission Shakti, large scale awareness has been created. On the eve of International Women's Day on 8 March 2021, 1000 women working at the grassroots level in various fields including women running groups in villages, ASHA, ANM, Anganwadi, education-world, sports-world, women police were invited to the university campus following the rules of COVID-19, in which 34 women were honoured with special honours by the Vice Chancellor Prof. Nirmala S. Maurya and all others were honoured with letters of encouragement |

Mission Shakti Phase 3

  • On 21st August 2021, a webinar was organized on the subject of orientation under Mission Shakti Phase-3, in which teachers and students of all the colleges affiliated to the university were connected |
  • On 04th September 2021, Vice Chancellor Prof. was the keynote speaker on the subject of sensitization and orientation. Nirmala S. Maurya oriented women teachers of basic education and Basic Education Officer Gorakhnath Patel was the special speaker |
  • On 24 September 2021, a webinar was organized on the topic of Shakti Samvad under the joint aegis of District Education and Training Institute, Jaunpur, in which as the chief guest Vice Chancellor Prof. Nirmala S. Maurya sensitized and oriented women and girls towards their rights |
  • On 27 September 2021, the University organized a seminar on the topic of Empowered Women and Future India in Gulabi Devi College. In this, Prof. Ajay Pratap Singh, Dr. Dhirendra Chaudhary and Dr. Jahnavi Srivastava as speakers made the girl students aware of employment oriented education and training.
  • On the occasion of International Girl Child Day on 11 October 2021, the mothers of newborn girls were honored by giving them roses in the district hospital and were also informed about the schemes of the state government and central government. | 

Centre for Women's Studies

Centre for Women's Studies, is the dream project of Chancellor and Honorable Governor of Uttar Pradesh Smt. Anandiben Patel, under which the Vice Chancellor Professor Nirmala S. will be inaugurated in Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University, Jaunpur on 25 March 2024. Maurya gave a new dimension to the university by establishing the Centre for Women's Studies. Its in-charge is Dr. Jahnvi Shrivastava. A strong team of women teachers including Prof. Vandana Rai (Coordinator), Dr. Annu Tyagi along with other women teachers have been given responsibility towards empowering women| Under the Centre for Women's Studies, PG courses, , 1 year Post Graduate Diploma in Gender and Women Studies (2 Semesters), and 2 year (4 Semesters) Post Graduate Degree Course in Women's Studies have started from the new session | This course includes special courses related to women's issues such as Women and Society, Concepts of Women's Studies, Women's Movement, Women and Literature, Women in History, Gender and Environment, Women's Rights in India, Policies and Programs for Women in India etc. Along with this, the course also includes field survey, questionnaire survey, project and short research. Apart from this, vocational training is also being provided to make the women self-reliant, such as computer training , beauty parlor , jam , sauce making and packaging , jewellery making , handmade bangles , perfume , agarbatti , papad , pickle making etc. and certificate courses for packaging etc. are also being conducted. Its main objective is to promote the dreams of the students. To provide self-confidence and courage . Many organizations need staff who understand gender issues in the workplace including sexual harassment, maternity leave, equal pay equal work, employment opportunity, law, health social work, counseling as well as government jobs that require expertise in gender issues. The demand for students holding degree or diploma in the courses run under the Women's Studies Center is continuously increasing, In such a situation, it has become the responsibility of the university to provide high personalities to the society and the nation by providing postgraduate courses to the students|

The main programs organized by the Women's Studies Center are as follows-

  • On June 20, 2021, the Women's Studies Center went to the slum and organized a competition on the topic of cleaning of slums,houses |
  • On June 21, 2021, the program coordinator of the Women's Studies Center, Dr. Jahnvi Srivastava organized a seminar in Baksa block on the topic of Development of Environmentwith the women of the group It was done.
  • On 24 June 2021, a Mahila Chaupal was organized in the slum of Kanhaipur on the topic of diseases and symptoms caused by malnutrition |
  • On 25 June 2021, on the occasion of World Environment Day, a large number of saplings were planted under the patronage of Hon'ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Nirmala S. Maurya under the Centre for Women's Studies in the University and an initiative was also taken to celebrate the birthdays of the saplings planted last year |
  • On 28 June 2021, an online seminar was organized on the subject of Women's Education and Self-Reliant India |
  • On 9 July 2021, a healthy child competition was organized in the university campus in which about 100 participants from the district participated |
  • On 12 July 2021, a nutritious food competition was organized in the university campus in which girl students from all departments and rural areas also participated | On 13 July 2021, a large festival was organized under the joint aegis of the Center and National Service Scheme. Plantation was done in the university campus by the Hon'ble Vice Chancellor and respected members of the Working Council in large numbers |.  
  • On 15th July 2021, training was given continuously at the block level for making Rakhi, Anarsa, and Agarbatti |
  • On 16th July 2021, Sawan Mahotsav Mela was organized, which was inaugurated by Hon'ble Rajya Sabha MP Smt. Seema Dwivedi ji under the chairmanship of Hon'ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Nirmala S. Maurya ji, in which shops of handmade products like Rakhi, Agarbatti, Anarsa, Bangles etc. were set up by the women of the group |
  • On 3 August 2021, a motivation program and MoU with PAMG Group was organized in the university campus under the joint aegis of the Center and Skill Development and Training Center.
  • On 18 August 2021, a motivation program was organized on the topic 'Aao Kaushal Badhein', 'Udyami Banayen' under the joint aegis of Women's Studies Center, Skill Development and Training Center and Fragrance Flavor Development Center in the university campus |
  • On 26 August 2021, a webinar was organized on the topic 'Daughters should raise their voice against exploitation at every level' under the joint aegis of Amar Ujala and Women's Studies Center. The keynote speaker was Honorable Vice Chancellor Prof. Nirmala S. Maurya |
  • On 15 September 2021, a girl's health club was established in the university campus. ,which was inaugurated by the Honorable Vice Chancellor Prof. Nirmala S. Health checkup camp was organized in Maurya women hostels with the help of main district hospital.
  • On 23rd October 2021, the Women's Study Centre performed Garbha Sanskar of 35 pregnant women from rural areas in the university campus with full rituals.
  • On 30th November 2021, a one-day workshop was organized on the topic of "Good Touch and Bad Touch" and "Chuppi Todo, Mooh Kholo", in which children of Anganwadi Centre and primary and secondary students were invited to the university and were made aware of both the above mentioned topics. On this occasion, children of Anganwadi Centres of Kukudipur village and Jasopur village were given a special workshop. Sports and teaching material was distributed by Vice Chancellor Prof. Nirmala S. Maurya |
  • On 1 November 2021, a self-employment fair was organized in the university campus for the sale of handmade items prepared by women of rural areas, incense sticks made from cow dung and lamps colored by students |
  • On 23 November 2021, the Women's Studies Center organized a tour of the prison , bank , Vikas Bhawan and District Officer Office and Post Office for the students.
  • The Women's Studies Center has been established in every university under the guidance of Hon'ble Chancellor Smt. Anandiben Patel ji, the entire team of Women's Studies in the university under the guidance of Vice Chancellor Prof. Nirmala S Maurya ji and the leadership of in-charge Dr. Jahnvi Srivastava with the aim of making women self-reliant, self-sufficient, taking advantage of government schemes, making them aware about health, environmental protection, and introducing them to Indian traditions and culture. Programs are being organized continuously.
  • On 13 February 2022, on the occasion of National Women's Day, a webinar on 'Women's Self-Reliance - A Social Challenge' was organized, in which Padma Shri Phoolbasan Bai Yadav, eminent social worker, Chhattisgarh was the chief guest and Dr. Kainat Kazi, blogger and travel writer was the special guest.
  • On 26 February 2022, Rangoli, poster competition and lecture were organized under the massive voter awareness campaign. The keynote speaker in the program was Prof. Avinash Parthdekar.
  • On 8 March 2022, on the occasion of International Women's Day, 60 women were honored with Angavastram and a certificate. The chief guest of the program was Chief Manager Punjab National Bank, Shri Ram Bahadur Saroj.
  • On 15 May 2022, on the occasion of International Family Day, a one-day seminar was organized on the role and responsibility of the family in the changing environment, in which Prof. R.N. Tripathi delivered a lecture as the keynote speaker.
  • On 11 June 2022, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Nirmala S Maurya inaugurated the Girl's Health Club and Women's Studies Center.
  • 8 July 2022 Azadi Mahotsav’ On the auspicious occasion of Purvanchal Sawan Mahotsav program was organized in the University Campus (Muktangan), the objective of which was to economically empower the women of rural areas by providing market for the products made by them in the University Campus on Raksha Bandhan, for which a five day training was continuously provided at block level for making Rakhi, decoration material as well as So that the students of the university can have respect and attachment towards their culture, traditions and customs.
  • Sawan Mahotsav Programs- Shiv Poojan Tableau, Puppet Tableau, Gudda Gudiya Marriage Tableau, Kajri Singing Competition, Purvanchal Sawan Mahotsav Competition, Attractive Tableau Competition, Attractive Stall Competition, Purvanchal Sawan Queen Competition, Purvanchal Sawan King Competition, Purvanchal Sawan Princess Competition (for girl students) Purvanchal Sawan Prince Competition (for students) Purvanchal Sawan Kids Competition (for children) Mehndi Competition General Knowledge related to environment was also organized.
  • Self-employment fair was organized on 21 October 2022. The main attraction of the fair was the stall of products made by the women of self-help groups. The self-employment fair was inaugurated by the hands of Hon'ble Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya ji, in which  Purchases worth Rs. 5000 were also made. Hon'ble Minister of State Shri Girish Chandra Yadav was present.
  • The Heritage Art Gallery was inaugurated by Vice Chancellor Prof. Nirmala S Maurya ji on 26 November 2022.

Mission Shakti and Women's Studies Centre
